2023 BBSA Congress Meeting

The BBSA is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its Congress meeting on 18th May 2023. The highly anticipated gathering brought together key board members, club president Karma Dorji, BBSA Dzongkhag Sports Association Head, and enthusiasts from the baseball and softball community to discuss important matters and chart the future of sports in Bhutan.

Under the esteemed patronage of the BBSA President, the Congress meeting showcased a spirit of unity, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to the development and growth of baseball and softball in the country. The event was hosted at the Ministry of Education and Skills Development conference hall, attracting distinguished attendees, including executive board members Mr. Marvin James Moore and Madam Kathleen Kiefer.

During the Congress meeting, a wide range of critical topics were deliberated, including:

1. Review of the previous year's achievements and challenges

2. Presentation and approval of financial reports

3. Discussion on the strategic plans for the upcoming year

4. Updates on the district expansion

5. coaches, umpires, and scorer clinics.

6. Organization of inter-Dzongkhag tournaments and leagues

7. Introduction of new initiatives to attract and retain young talents.

The Congress meeting served as a platform for attendees to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collectively address the challenges faced by baseball and softball in Bhutan. The discussions were characterized by constructive dialogue and a shared vision of creating a sustainable and vibrant sports culture in the country.

One of the key outcomes of the Congress meeting was the expansion of baseball and softball to BBSA-registered district clubs to oversee specific areas of focus, such as talent identification, coaching development, and officials' development planning.
