Building Bridges and Dreams: A Heartfelt Thank You to Ben Wright and Family
[Thimphu, Bhutan] – The Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association (BBSA) is profoundly grateful to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ben Wright and his family, whose generous support for our 2025 development programs is rooted in a deep and personal connection to both our nation and the spirit of the game.
For Ben, supporting baseball in Bhutan is where two great passions meet. He shared with us the profound meaning behind his family’s contribution, stating:
“Supporting the Bhutan Baseball and Softball organization was deeply meaningful to me because it ties together two passions that have shaped my life: baseball and the remarkable country of Bhutan. Bhutan has a unique spirit grounded in community, joy, and the pursuit of something greater than oneself and baseball embodies many of those same values.”
This understanding that the core values of baseball are a natural fit for the spirit of Bhutan is a powerful affirmation of our work. Ben sees beyond the game itself, recognizing it as a vehicle for teaching the very principles that help young people thrive: discipline, teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
His support is also an act of thoughtful equity and global citizenship. As a parent in the United States, Ben sees the abundant access his own children have to fields, leagues, and equipment. His decision to support BBSA came from a desire to help level the playing field for young athletes in Bhutan, where these resources are precious and in limited supply.
He added:
“It was a true honor to be able to support access for youths in some small way,” he expressed, “for the people and the sport that I love.”
This is more than just philanthropy; it is an investment in shared humanity. Ben Wright and his family are not just donating to a program they are actively building cultural bridges.
