Dechencholing Higher Secondary School | 2026
A Historic Beginning
In late July 2026, the Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association (BBSA) launched its first ever Inter House Baseball5 League at Dechencholing Higher Secondary School, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at bringing the fast paced, urban format of Baseball5 to students from Class 4 to Class 10.
The journey began with three weeks of coaching sessions, where BBSA coaches introduced the basics of Baseball5 to a total of 570 students. From this pool, coaches identified 243 probable players, who then went through a selection process.
By the end of the selection phase, 160 players were chosen, 80 for the Junior Category (Class 4–6) and 80 for the Senior Category (Class 7–10) forming 16 house teams (8 Junior + 8 Senior).
The League – Action, Energy, and History
The league kicked off on Monday, 7th September 2026, with all 16 house teams competing for the historic first-ever championship title.
These two houses etched their names into BBSA history as the first ever Inter House Baseball5 Champions at Dechencholing HSS.

In 2027, BBSA aims to expand the Inter House Baseball5 League to more schools across Bhutan, from Primary to Higher Secondary levels.
The objective is clear:
