Bhutan: Baseball and Softball Leagues Recruiting Kids

The Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association is recruiting boys and girls (ages 6-15) to learn to play two of the fastest-growing sports in Bhutan - baseball and softball! Kids will be taught the rules and fundamentals of the game and will play league games in the spring, summer, and fall.

"Baseball is a fun game that challenges players of all ages in fielding, throwing, hitting, baserunning, and pitching," said Jigdrel Wangchuk, BBSA coach and national team player. "It's a great sport that is very addictive once you start playing the game."

"Softball challenges girls to compete at the same level as the boys," explained BBSA Softball Program Coordinator Tshering Zangmo. "The game teaches players the importance of teamwork and working hard to accomplish goals. Softball is an exciting sport that is also a good way to stay physically fit while having fun with your friends and teammates."
