18U RICB Baseball League Playoffs Begins Oct. 29

THIMPHU - The first round of the 18U RICB Men's Baseball League Playoffs will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Motithang Higher Secondary School sports field. First pitch is set at 1:00 p.m.

Top-seeded Thimphu Baseball Club will battle No. 4 Royal Bhutan Bodyguard in the opening game. Thimphu is the oldest team in the league by average age of its roster, and finished the regular season unbeaten.

Second-ranked Dechencholing Higher Secondary School will face No. 3 Taba Lower Secondary School in the second game. DHSS is the second-oldest squad while Taba LSS is one of the youngest teams in the league.

The Consolation Championship will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Bhutan Baseball Day slated for Friday, Nov. 11. The Championship Game will take place on the same date at 2:00 p.m. following the Girls Fastpitch Softball Exhibition Game.

The RICB 18U Men's Baseball League is sponsored by the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan and co-sponsors include Number 7 Olakha, First Floor Restaurant and Bar, Hutah Dairy, and Hayate.

The Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association (BBSA) is the national governing body for baseball and softball in Bhutan, and is a member of the Bhutan Olympic Committee and the World Baseball Softball Confederation.
