The first-ever Bhutan U18 National Softball Team Camp took place from Jan. 25-27 at the Motithang Higher Secondary School sports ground. A total of 24 players (ages 14-18) competed to be named to the 20-person roster.

"I was pleasantly surprised at the improvement these young women showed each day of the camp," expressed Marvin Moore, Bhutan Baseball and Softball Association International Coach. "This group has the potential to develop into a really good national team in a few years."

Due to the inexperience of local Bhutanese coaches, the BBSA has formed three national teams - U18 Softball, U18 Baseball, and Senior Baseball - that will be trained by the American skipper.

"The Bhutanese coaches have become competent youth league coaches, but national team players need professional coaching to reach their full potential," added Moore. "We need these talented young players to make significant strides in their baseball and softball development this year."

The three national teams will conduct weekly training sessions beginning in February.

The BBSA is recruiting boys and girls (ages 6-15) who want to learn how to play baseball and softball. CLICK HERE to register today!
